Hey Beauties! I’m back with another fashion post, and if you are new, welcome to my blog!
Today, I’m serving cotton candy looks topped off with a thick coat of melanin magik. This look is inspired by a YouTuber I recently discovered, Kiera Please. I somehow ran upon her content, fell in love with her scarf top styles, and knew I had to recreate it! It’s so easy too: get a large scarf, wrap it around as you wish, and tie it off (Definitely watch her videos to see the different ways you can style it)! *My scarf is much smaller than hers, but I managed to pull it off because I have a much smaller bust. I’ll definitely be buying more large scarves to rock this look more throughout the summer. Don’t sleep on this!

I woke up feeling really bummy on this beautiful Saturday morning! I was in bed all morning until my Liberian beauty, Deamah, came over looking so cute! Seeing how vibrant she looked, I was inspired to get dressed, put on some makeup, and have a little photo shoot with her. Here are my captured moments!

Usually I’m not a fan of two different patterns, but this meshed well!
I’m from the village!
My neighbors kept looking at us while we were taking pictures lol.. that still didn’t stop me.
Scarf: Ordered from an online shop called Wish| Skirt: Thrifted from Plato’s Closet
Can y’all see the pieces of broken glass on the ground? I was feeling extra bold, all in the sake of taking pictures. But I’m really happy with the way this came out, and thank God for no injuries.
Man! I’m so excited to share these pictures with you all!
Background: Prom was Saturday night, so Sunday afternoon, after celebrating Mothers Day with our moms, the girls and I were on the road to our two night vacation.
Wildwood was an experience, one that I want to relive over and over again lol. It was definitely a WILD experience (see what I did there?) to say the least, but it was also a bonding experience! I’ve never felt so liberated from responsibilities and reality! It’s been a week since we were there, and I still feel like I left a piece of my mind at the beach house. Fortunately for me, I also brought back a piece of the experience through the pictures I captured, each embellished with a hint of magic and a story. Basically, my friend Steysi and I are lovers of aesthetic and capturing the moment, so after a Rite Aid run with the rest of the girls, she and I wandered off for a photography adventure.. Here are the results!
So May has been full of back to back events! I started off this lovely month with AP exams, three to be exact. May 3rd was my AP Lit exam, followed by APUSH on May 5th, then AP Calc on May 9th. To add an icing on the cake, I took two finals for my Psychology course following the AP Calc exam.. Saying my brain was fried is an understatement lol. But I survived, as I knew I would, and could finally channel my energy to something more positive: PROM! My mom came home from Nigeria the week before, and thankfully, I fell in love with my dress! (I was extremely picky with the fabric that I wanted, and had a nightmare a few nights before my mom returned home of my dress being a disaster lol. (I know.. I’m dramatic!) To continue, I bought my shoes and got my hair done (Deamah slayed my hair y’all!) the night before prom. All in all, ya girl went to bed at 3am, to wake up at 8am.
Now for prom, the weather was the opposite of what I would ever wish on anyone for their prom day! The weather was gloomy and rainy— it could have easily been a buzzkill if I let it! But thankfully I have a positive boyfriend who said, “It’s alright babe, a little rain never killed nobody!” With that said, I couldn’t let the rain kill my shine. As 6pm approached, I realized that we would be late for prom which started at 7pm. Long story short, we arrived fashionably late, and made the night our own! So here, I share with you snippets from an eventful and memorable night!
Ps. My makeup was SLAYED.. In fact, it was murdered.. by the AMAZING & TALENTED Chichi Obufor! IG: Chi_obufor. The video is on her Instagram if you wanna witness the glow! Also, be sure to check out her YouTube channel for beauty inspiration! https://www.youtube.com/user/TalentedChi
Long time, no blog! Yeahh, I took a break to get all my college applications submitted (most importantly, those financial aid applications!) Now that those are all out of the way, I can now focus on expanding my blog and brand! I have a lot of good news to share with you all from the past few months, but I will leave that for my next post. I just want to thank God for all his blessings on me and my loved ones! These past few months have been nothing but strenuous work, but I definitely see the fruits of my labour, and it’s so encouraging. All in all, I am grateful!
Anywho, I’m back with my usual lookbooks! STORYTIME: YOUR GIRL WAS HAVIING A FASHION EMERGENCY TODAY! You know when you look through your closet and feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear?! Maybe it’s just a girl thing lol.. but I dug through my closet and dresser up to 10x..over and over.. knowing fully well that I was looking through the same clothes, yet holding on to some hope that a random article of clothing would graciously appear inside my closet. Realizing that I was going to be late for church if I kept being picky, I grabbed this gold shirt, threw on a pair of pants, slipped on these heels, and dipped! So yeah.. This is how this masterpiece, as well as most of my other outfits, was created. My usual statement has once again been proven accurate: Last minute outfits are the best!

Another Monday, Another Fit! For this throwback, I combined two looks from December, the second one being on Christmas Day.
Sidebar: I don’t know about you, but I feel like the older I get, the less exciting Christmas is for me and my family. When I was younger, in America, my young, aloof mind wandered to realms far beyond my reach. Expectations were quiet high, and everything seemed so magical. I was entranced by the Christmas movies shown on Disney channel, ABC Family (freeform), Hallmark, and Lifetime, and so I wished for a Christmas just as festive! This wish is why I would be the only one to put up the Christmas tree every year, decorate the house with Christmas lights and ornaments, and as any good little kid would, leave out cookies and milk for Santa (even though by then, I knew that man was not real).. except I would end up eating the cookies and pouring out the milk (I’m NOT a fan of the whole cookies & milk thing). Anyways, now all I really look forward to for Christmas is singing at the church service.
I also think America is to blame for it. Christmas in Nigeria is hands, feet, head, everything down the BEST thing ever! From the songs, to the gatherings, to the church service, to the food.. Man! Nothing can honestly compare! Nigeria, the Motherland, makes Christmas in America look like a treacherous bore. It’s actually crazy!
Anyways.. before I get too sidetracked (I could talk about Christmas in Nigeria for AGES!.. Here are my two fits, and I’ll see you in the next post! Don’t forget to like, comment, & subscribe!
